Ottawa, ON, July 11, 2012 – Wavefront and Invest Ottawa have partnered to accelerate the growth of wireless companies in the Ottawa region by providing a range of products and services to companies involved in everything wireless from application development to spectrum management, to wireless build-outs to Machine-to-Machine (M2M).
This effort to accelerate the growth of wireless companies builds on the mandates of both organizations to help Canadian companies capitalize on the ever growing multi-billion dollar global wireless industry.
The agreement between the two organizations will see wireless companies in the Ottawa region benefit from such services as:
- a mobile cloud for device-testing which accelerates time-to-market
- a handheld library at Invest Ottawa which reduces the cost of development
- a Machine-to-Machine Accelerator Program which provides developers with a full range of business and technical support
- a global market linkage program to accelerate customer acquisition.
“This partnership is a wonderful opportunity to leverage the critical wireless technical and business products and services Wavefront provides with the entrepreneurial linkages that Invest Ottawa already has in the Ottawa region. This kind of collaboration gives the wireless community a significant competitive advantage in the global wireless market,” said Helene Joncas, Wavefront’s Vice President Eastern Region.
“Many small companies don’t have enough cash to prototype and commercialize their products. By partnering with Wavefront on these services, we will provide a competitive advantage and save them money and time to market. This is only the second such partnership in Canada and we commend Wavefront for having the foresight to build this alliance,” said Bruce Lazenby, Invest Ottawa President and CEO.
“This partnership demonstrates how we are realizing our mandate of supporting the growth and commercialization of wireless companies across Canada by connecting them with critical resources, partners and opportunities,” said James Maynard, President and CEO of Wavefront.
Wavefront handset rentals are available free of charge until October 1st, 2012. For more information on this partnership please visit http://investottawa.ca/wavefront.
